I decided I wanted to be a Navy Seal so................just kidding.
I like the idea of constant "illumination" without pushing a button or dickering with shining a light on the watch face to have temporary phosphor-illumination etc.
I always thought these watches were the gold standard for rugged timekeeping but then reviews are all over the place.
I would want a po-folks version right at $215, (with discount coupon etc.) I would hate to let $200 swirl down the drain.
What say all ye soothsayers and wizards? Buy the watch or more ammo?

Ammo. But that's just me my body kills watches only the cheap G Shock lasted any time when I wore a watch . Now I just use my cell phone. 0 -
I bought a Luminox and one of co workers did about the same time.The battery died in mine and when I went to have it replaced,the battery prong broke off.I called Luminox and they gave me a blast of feces because I did not send it to their service center.The co worker jumped in the pool and his got water inside and quit working.I guess his was made for ground based SEALS.Buy A Casio or Seiko. 0 -

I had one for about fifteen years. It stayed illuminated for probably eight years and faintly after that. It was accurate as any watch in that price range.
It lived a pretty hard life at work. Put a few batteries in it. Never went in water with it.
Never had any issues with it till it suddenly died.0 -
I have one. Need to send it off for a battery replacement which is a pain. But I like the watch and it has been very durable. It has been in the water but I haven't taken it underwater diving or anything like that. 0 -
I've had mine for several years. It was hard to part with the $400+ dollars but it's performance has been flawless. When it needs cleaning I scrub it with a toothbrush and bar soap, rinse under a faucet.
Since the "illumination" is tritium, there will be a loss of brightness over time.0 -
Well I decided to gamble on an entry level "Sea Turtle", I'll thrash it this hunting season and see how it holds up. Duck hunting is hard on equipment, and middle aged guys too.[:I]

My every day watch for over 20 years. Finally on my second one. I broke one of the ears that holds the band off of the case on my first one. My fault, not the watch.
My wife tried one, a bit nicer than the basic one, and loves it, never wears her dress watches anymore. I don't scuba dive but mine gets plenty wet, no water problems at all.0 -

When I wear a watch it's a pocket watch like my great grandpa's old American Waltham watch that was made in 1896.

Cell phone - no thanks. I don't take one hunting, I used to have a three watt analog bag phone in the truck, but not anymore. I do take a Garmin inReach two way satellite GPS/communicator, thus my spousal unit worries less. It has the time, but like a phone, it will ruin your night vision, which takes longer and longer to recover as you age.
I have hunted for many years with no other plan but "If I'm not back by the 31st at 9:00p.m., call my buddy Randy, he'll find me". I like disconnecting completely and just don't worry about it. One time I camped out and duck hunted 21 days straight. Now it's only 9 or 10.[:(]
I've had other watches that will glow softly (like Timex indiglow) but they require your other hand to push the button.
A watch that has a Tritium glow, supposedly rugged and water proof, seems to fit the bill.
I just got the Luminox in, glow seems fine in the dark. We'll see if it still works in February, (after duck season).0
