Have eaten a bit of everything that was slower than me, never had coyote. Have had dog (stewed). In general, no predator is my first choice, w/ exception of snake. 0 -
I like to do European mounts of deer or other interesting skulls. We used to have a dog who just loved the days I was boiling out a deer head. She ate very well on those days.
I boiled out a coyote skull one day and put the meat in my her food bowl.
I'll never forget the look on her face - she gave it one sniff, looked at me with 'I'm not eating that - it's coyote'. And she walked away!
That was about the only thing she ever turned down!0 -

Just make sure you smear some Vicks vaporub under your nose when you go to skin them out. Good luck, let me know how they taste. 0 -
I would be worried about rabies or some other disease, not sure they would cook out of meat...????

I've never been hungry enough to eat a coyote when one was available. So I can't help you. If I'm ever hungry enough and one's available I'll get back with you. 0 -
I have shot many, and trapped many more, and never once had the desire to cook one.
I do know that when we toss the carcass, that something gobbles them up. I can't say it was other coyotes that ate them, or maybe bear, Foxes, or Fisher's & Minks, but something snacks on them.

Your Cricket just way you would kick any other meat. And as far as taste goes, it doesn't taste bad. It does have different taste then other meats because their meat eaters... But all in all it's not bad. I'm sure there are some on here that have been to Asia that will tell you all about dog meat, and a coyote tastes like dog
And rat taste like chicken.

If you have ever tried potted meat, you have tasted some yote contents. (read the fine print if they still put it on the side of the can and are truthful)

Following the exact same recipe for "planked carp", after cooking you discard the yote and eat the plank![:)]
I also learned from experience that not all ducks and water foul taste the same. Fish eating ducks smell so bad after being cooked, your nose will not let your mouth get close enough to taste them![xx(]0 -
Anymore when I shoot one I just let it lay. There not paying any thing really anymore for their pelts. I can remember a time when you could get 35 to 45 dollars a pelt, fox would bring 35 to 40 dollars and racoon 15 to 25 dollars a pelt, this was back in the early 1970s.
I believe that is why there are so many coyotes anymore, no one is really trapping them anymore, anyone trapping now is doing it as a hobby. Also I forgot to say too, the pelts were left on, the person I took them to, didn't want you to skin them, he wanted to skin, fletch and stretch them his self.0 -
