32* with lite snow and rain coming thru on 35+ mph wind....supposed to blow thru in a few short hours and hope the REA does not fail... be a chore to move service trailer with generator to hookup...grankids headed back to college yesterday afternoon ahead of this

wind near 40mph now and gusty and rain /drizzle has changed to snow so hope the REA lines will hold...we are near the end of a 25+ mile run from plant and lots can happen in that stretch...sure enjoy a 95% efficient central heat unit 0 -
in 1958 when grandad lived here a blizzard took out all the old smaller REA poles common at that time ...dad got them to a motel in a town about 30 miles away....took about 2 months to get new poles and wire strung...wayback before 1938 REA came this house used to have a delco 32volt dc power plant to run a few items....once after i moved here i had a water leak in a basement room and mopped it up and plugged in about a 10" black metal fan ...it was blasting air like a 42" shop fan now would...KOOL...checked on it drying romm about 30 minutes later and noticed it seemed hot so i unplugged it....yep...metal plate on base said 32V DC....wheee 0
