Insurance Company denied claim

From hospital. A Cat Scan for Shingles... Hospital wants to know if we have other insurance. LMAO... Going to speak with them Monday. Someone at the ER needs their head examined for the wrong diagnosis. Said I had a brain tumor and scared the hell out of me.

    I thought on a non-emergency case, they had to pre-approved services like that with the insurance company

    My insurance company denied a CAT scan for me.

    I called the provider. $ 100.00 if I paid cash.

    About the same as what I would have paid in co-pay, though I did not get the $ 200.00+ credit to my deductible.

    Some things are cheaper when you just pay out of pocket.

    I think it is more liability, better safe than sorry in case of lawsuits, and he had insurance to cover it....... if you refused the ambulance you may have also refused treatment in the eyes of insurance company. not saying it is right just the way of the world now....[xx(]

    No ambulance ride. Wasn't a Dr. who called it wrong..but a nurse pract. Got to Main ER and Dr. there still ordered the Cat Scan. Two people who couldn't see it was a rash. Of course I have State of SC insurance which is like a buffet to them.

    About 12 years I went to the ER for severe pain in my groin and side areas. I had three different doctors guessing what it might be. A man with a bucket and a mop was moping the floor and heard what the doctors were talking about. He made the comment, I bet he has kidney stones. One of the doctors commented, I wonder if he has kidney stones. The guy with the mop and bucket looked at me and rolled his eyes and walked away.

    first duty of an insurance company is to collect premiums and the second is to deny claims....i remember going to Omaha Ne. about 50 years ago and seeing all the huge insurance buildings..and that is how they can afford luxury offices
