Candidate FICO Score
Do you think knowing how a candidate handles their own money would be a good litmus for public office in handling OUR money?
I haven't checked and don't know if the numbers are available, but curious how the field stack up against the FICO.
Bet Democraps have really low scores.

they thinks its good for us 0 -
I think their FICO score is their private business, not mine. I also think their tax returns are not my business. 0 -

That's right, however they did run for public office and some aspects of their life should be considered for the position, especially handling OUR money.
Laws can change, and this might be something to consider for future hiring/electing for public service.0 -
FICO score is only good if you borrow money and pay it back.
If you owe nothing, score goes down.
If you've never borrowed money, it is even worse.0 -

This is very true.
Know a young man who has never used a credit card, never borrowed to buy a car, etc.
Wanted to buy a house. Had around $ 75,000.00 saved up for a down payment on a $ 250,000.00 house, and the banks he contacted would not even look at him because he had no credit history.0 -
they should have to pass a security clearance which would include that! 0 -
Congressional shenanigans crosses both sides of the street...Duncan Hunter (R-CA) wouldn't come close to having a FICO score that would compel a bank to loan him any $$.

Very, very true. My wife and I pay every single bill on time the moment we get it. Never carry a balance, have never missed a mortgage payment. Perfect credit history. I checked my score and it seemed a bit low. I asked and was told that it's not very high because we don't make a lot of money. I pointed out that we have always paid back every dollar borrowed as we should have. The lady said sorry, but if you don't make a lot of money, you don't get a very high score.
To my way of thinking, that's not fair.0 -
When I sold my business and went looking for a house I had no credit score to speak of because We paid cash for everything for at least 10 years. We had 100,000.00 in cash for a down payment and wanted to buy a $162,000.00 house. The bank laughed at us. When I told them I had 100,000.00 in cash they said it didn't matter, basically they said they didn't believe me. I told them I could bring it to the bank and lay it on the counter. They said how would we know if it was yours or not. No matter what I said they would not finance my house. I finally got a credit union to do it. At that time they were financing minorities with only $700.00 down. We were white. 0 -
A person that has no mortgage, pays off credit cards in full every month, has not borrowed any funds (except a mortgage) for over 30 years, can have a FICO score of 843+ out of 850.
The way this country voted this election, I don't think knowing a candidates FICO score would have made any difference.
There are not enough voters who actually care, to make a difference.0 -
score is irrelevant to me...haven't borrowed in years . pay every biil the day i get it, got a decent balance in 2 banks...only ONE credit card paid in full every time...bought several tracts of land one with irrigation and paid them all OFF in 5 yearly payments...and probably have a lower score than the bozos at the scoring companies...i have quit banks for this type of nonsense... 0
