our little town closed its VFW hall a few years ago and it is up for sale.....though not a vet, up until walking was impaired a few years ago i helped place flags out and picked up in our local cemetery and also at one near our lake place... THANKS to all who served 0 -
I go to our local VFW and buy drinks (one per person) for all Veterans for 1 hour 0 -
Today is the day for the survivors to celebrate, to swap tales, and to reflect on the good fortune we all had to return to our families. It's the day for the brave, the lucky, and even for the reluctant, but most of all for the living.

Today is the day to cherish the freedoms we have (have had), seems we are losing them slowly.
Election a few days ago indicate those freedom will soon be very limited as those who hate the constitution are winning more elections.
Free stuff must be a deciding factor for voters.

many of the WW2 and Korea vets here gone...one was a coastwatcher in the Pacific and said the japanese tried very hard to kill him several times...another was machine gunned across his middle near the Chosin Reservoir retreating when waves of Chinese joined the NK tropps forcing south...he hid and crawled for 3 days to get back to American lines and made it without bleeding or freezing to death...MY greatest respects for those that have sacrificed all and those that made it home .... and these stories are slowly being lost to our young today that do not have a clue about the REAL AMERICA 0
