Ever put something up for safe keeping so it would
n't get lost but now it's really lost?
Spent most of my staycation trying to locate it but no dice. Hell I didn't even find anything interesting. Or the "what the Hell is that?" or the "ahso, that's what I've been smelling".
Other than taking the reptile enclosures out and doing the laundry not too productive staycation.
A bit of luck I did have. The HOA decided to re-do the roof without giving me much warning other than I needed to remove the sat. dishes. Man I would've been PISSED if this took place when I needed to sleep during the day. Even if they knocked off around 1600.

Bought a pistol many years ago that came from the factory in a Red case. Shot it a few times, put it on the shelf in the basement and got busy with other things. Totally forgot gun came in Red case. I looked for that thing multiple times over the next couple of years. I found my 'drill' in a Red case a few times (never actually opened the case), but never the pistol. I mean everybody knows that pistols don't come in Red cases, right? But drills do.
Finally needed a drill one day, and of course found that pistol I'd been missing!
As I hadn't seen the gun in years, it occurred to me that I probably didn't need it too badly. It was the 1st thing I ever sold on GB.0 -

I searched every where for my screwdriver magnetizer that I always kept in the bottom drawer of my chest type tool box on the right hand side. I finally ordered a new one and when it came I tossed it into the drawer where I always kept the lost one and as I was looking in the drawer the magnets attracted each other and the one that was lost locked onto the new one as they flipped over together. I couldn't believe it. I looked in that drawer a dozen times and it was not there until I threw the new one in.
There's always been a grimlim that hides out in my tools. They go missing and show up in the strangest places. I dare not drop anything on the floor because it either gets lost or rolls to the most difficult place to reach.0 -

No I'm not misplaced. A 6'3" Japo sticks out like a sore thumb at any place.

I believe it's been misplaced before I started to look and now it's down right lost. I got a feeling it was in one of the plastic pistol cases I used to ship a pistol out. I reckon it might be at the Tehas gunshop floor or at my bro's old house two moves ago? Or was that three moves ago?0 -
Frequently happens to me I will go into my shop looking for something I know I have . Search high and low but the item is nowhere to be found . Took 3 years to find my 1/2 inch corded desalt drill Currently on the hunt for my rcbs primer crimp removal tool . Don?t get me started on putting something up for safe keeping INSIDE the house ! Guarantee that the wife will come along and move it . We have kept spare batteries on a shelf over the washing machine for 20 years . Went looking for them last week nope not there , found out later she had moved them to a drawer in the china cabinet Anyone know why they do this? 0 -

I had lose bolts, screws, washers and such scattered around. So in a stroke of genius I put them all in a plastic jar.

or I have been in his garage and seen "my tools" spread out on his bench ..
its bad enough loosing my memory on where I put things with out have ing a son who causes hours or hunting for nothing

I first learned of this while working in a bicycle shop. The master mechanic told me that 'they' can't own their own tools, but can reach into ours and borrow our tools. The 'rule' is that 'they' have to return the tools, but aren't required to put them where they got them. This is why tools are found on the back of the toilet, in the fridge, in the cereal cupboard, etc.
I owned a motorcycle that could be maintained with a single 6 mm Hex wrench. I was overhauling the clutch and when I went to put the cover back on, the wrench was gone. I ended up cleaning the entire garage and didn't find the wrench. I moved and cleared out the garage. I still don't have that wrench!0 -

I admit that I am not a professional medical research scientist, but have found a definate corilation between an aging persons urinary trac and his basic memory abilities.

My best, (most recent) pair of glasses are in just such a place.
I originally thought they had been swept off my head by overhead pine branches while mowing my large yard.
I now tend to think, I placed them somewhere "Special," while gassing up/working on the mower, in my 30'X 40' metal outbuilding.
It's been about a year now. (+) (I still have hopes of finding them.)

I have found that the farther I have to walk to get a job done the less likely that job will get done. Something always distracts me before I get there and I work on something else.
That's why I parked the truck almost in front of the front door.[8D]0 -
As for using the head. I'm more of the "I really don't need to go but since I'm close by I might as well". Not like after I got my gallbladder removed I was more plan out my day around where the heads were.
I got to sleep in today with out the roofers pounding about waking me up at 0800.0 -
About 6 years ago I cast 2 sterling silver butt plates for a 18th century French shotgun. I used one and hid the other one so it wouldn't get stolen. Never have found the other one in 6 years of looking off and on. Also lost 3 sets of keys. 0
