any one else got bee problems???

The yellow jackets are just terrible around here. Messed around with a nest last weekend and got it 8 times before I decided to leave it alone...

    No Bees, Plenty of wasps and Yellow Jackets. Yellow Jackets are in full swing around here.

    Set any food down outside and it is swarmed before you can get it sat down.

    I got stung along with my dog several times last month and I still have these tiny red spots on my feet and legs where the little bastages drilled me! Yes, they were yellow jackets.

    I have read where our very hot and dry summer has increased all of our bee encounters, somewhat out of the ordinary. Anywhere you have water nearby in any form, you attract them.

    Do not leave your beverage of choice unguarded![:0]

    Why I drink From the plastic bottles with screw on tops. Cans lead to stung lips.

    Stop wasps from building a nest.

    Get a small paper bag. Fill with a few plastic grocery bags (anything that will inflate the paper bag).

    Tie a string around the top. Hang the bag in a place where wasps would build a nest. It will keep wasps from building a nest. The idea being that the wasps see the nest as a rival and therefore avoid it.

    I have three fake nests on sides of our house. My neighbor has them, also. It works!

    Nope. Got a good number of bumbles and honey bees this year. Need more wasp of course, but haven't seen any caterpillars though.
    Thousands of dragonflies which wiped out the mosquitoes.

    Wisdom - Don't mess with stingers and they won't bother you. They fly around me all the time. They never bother me.

    I had a treaty with all of the wasps and hornets that goes back many moons. I could do just about anything up close and personal with all of these bees without ever a single sting.

    Then just this summer I had to do some work on a hot tub that came with my new house that I have never intended to use. My wasp buddies decided to break our treaty and I got attacked like I was leading a wagon train out west! [:(!] The several cans of RAID wasp and hornet spray I let loose upon them gave me a bit of solace and revenge but having to then work in the greasy mess of chemical after-effects probably shortened my lifespan much worse than the poisonous bee stings!

    Yellow jackets are a tribe of bees that no treaty can ever be established. They will attack you with just a look their way. The only good yellow jacket is a DEAD yellow jacket!

    Bees are not a problem but an important component of nearly most plant life and agricultural production

    Without the bees we would all likely die

    So even if you get a hive or a queen invades and sets up house call a beekeeper first for removal

    And oh BTW - it's the law and it has teeth

    BEES you say BEES ?????????????? haven't seen a bee in almost 5 years now.....no monarch butterflies any more....no bull snakes, only one box turtle in 3 years...big machinery and chemicals are changing things...got plenty of armadillos and illegals....
