How true, at 30 degrees I don't even wear a light jacket,at 20 degrees I'll put on a light jacket, if it gets down to 10 degrees I might put on a coat, maybe not though. It's got to be down to 10 below before I'll use my heated jacket...

the older i get the colder i get...stiffens up the arthur...a 95% effecient propane central and just over 200 sq/ft electric floor heat in the kitchen, is wunnnderfulll...me and murphy can get real comfy.... 0 -

I was in an auto repair place the other day, the high temp was around 30 degrees. Guy ahead of me was in shorts, sandals and "T" shirt. When he was done and out the door I made mention of his dress. The guy behind the counter said that the lightly dressed customer was from Alaska.

Really? OF COURSE IT IS DRY COLD! All of the moisture just froze before your eyes and fell to the freakin' ground! At that temperature you can pour liquid propane on the ground, it will lay there in a puddle.0 -
Heck, I remember back when I lived in Minnesota and was ice fishing on Mille Lacs lake. Stepped out of the ice fishing 'house' to take a leak and it was so cold I had to pull it out by hand. 0 -

Yup , I had to work yesterday , hit 42 degrees here in Wi. , running around most of the day with the window down,
just felt like being a old Dog and finding a nice spot to take a nap in that sun shine,,,

Coldest I worked outdoors was -52?F. There was no wind but even so the cold creeps in on you. I still think it's worse at -20 with a wind. 0 -
Around here in Northern Michigan, it gets cold enough that when you inhale a breath through your nose, your nostril's freeze shut and you have to exhale through your mouth![:0] 0 -
cold IS relative.... many years ago i worked for a state licensed surveyor and we did a topographic survey of a gypsum mine near Sun City Kansas....it was a constant 58* inside if i remember right but it just sucked the warm right out thru anything you wore...used a regular rod on the floor and a reverse Philedelphia rod on the ceiling ...the above ground had alredy been shot so the three runs combined gave a 3-D picture of the mine and overburden...at regular intervals were columns of gypsum about 20' in diameter to support the roof and around the base of each column was a top 1/2 of a donut shaped ring oozed up on the floor from the weight of the roof....and a column could collapse ...these deposits were left by volcanoes in the NE corner of New Mexico thousands of years ago..it was hauled to Medicine Lodge Ks to make plasterboard and years late we hauled 3000# per acre back here to our farm to spread on fields because it containd good doses of trace elements for crops 0
