New Tires

Got me some new skins for the Tacoma. I went with Yokohama Geolander MT G003?s (265 75 16) for 198.00 each. I bought them from a local shop in the little town of Perryopolis, Pa.

    Well, about 2 weeks ago, I finally got around to put a new set of all season tires on my old KIA Sportage. Old ones still had lots of tread, but have been on the car since the beginning of 2012.

    I noticed one of the new tires was losing air pressure a few days ago with a slow leak. Took it back to the tire store and they found I had picked up a nail!![:(]

    They repaired it for no charge of coarse but I sure do wish they would have replaced it!! Starting out with a repaired new tire does not sit very well with me.

    Have run all over the place with the old tires and NEVER any problems.
    Then this happens with less than 100 miles on the new ones. Sure hope my luck changes soon!

    Just venting. Not quite a rant yet, but maybe after another cup of coffee.

    No, not kidding Mobuck. Good sound tires that I paid GOOD money for are part of a good nights sleep for this kid![:)]

    I never heard of replacing a tire because of a flat
    wouldn't that be like totaling your brand new car on your way home and towing it back and asking for a new one

    i started fixing tires manually at age 12....my shop holds a new rim clamp tire machine and spin balancer....had same set up at the lake place to help over there as it is a 35 mile round trip to get a tire fixed.....an old guy did it there manually till he died....a small nail fix is no harm to a tire...done right..most damage done is by some gorilla who damages a bead during dismount or mount

    As long as the fix was not a plug it is fine. The patch, installed on the inner liner will last the life of the tire.

    Not using old air is the number one problem with new tires.

    Have had my tires since 2006? and they're still going strong and lots of thread.

    Two years ago had to replace all 4 stems due to old age (rubber cracking). Didn't use old air but the tires seem to be fine, probably because the old air had permeated the tires for over 10 years.

    They did not put the nail in it, you did. Replacing is on you. But I get what you mean, like your first paint scratch but with safety concerns.

    depends in the warranty. Changing or patching that tire will not fix a poor quality tire. All four need changing

    I REMEMBER when the Standard Oil station across the road from our Vickers station had a promotion...buy 5 0r 10 ?? gallons of gas and get FREE pink air in your tires ????? what a hoot...
