Pedestrian walk on the "sidewalk".

..The father of my niece's son was walking along the tracks
after being at a bar. They don't know if he was standing or
laying down or what. An Amtrak hit him without the engineer
knowing it. It tossed him onto the adjacent track where a
freight hit him again. Talk about your time to go!

my oldest son is a big train buff , him ,his GF and buddies travel the country photographing and riding the old steam engines ,
he is also a member of a steam engine support / restoration group in Indiana ( forget the eng number [:I][:I] ) but he tells me just about every trip there is a least one fool standing in the middle or too close too the tracks trying to get that great shot of the train and just about end there life doing it
also the engineers he knows some have hit some one or a vehicle on the tracks they just close there eyes noting they can do but ride it out0 -
844 accident shows it all on you tube. We were there, but didn't see it happen. Still out here for the rodeo. 0 -

I've seen a couple in my time. We had a suicide of a transient that drive between the trucks of a moving freight train. The wheels caught him above the waist. Cut him in half ans seared both sides shut, their was almost no blood. It actually looked fake....but it wasn't...I do wonder how much of it he felt. 0 -

we had a guy helping a local farmer and he crossed an ATSF track on twp road which came across at an angle..front wheel assist tractor pulling a disc..train broke the tractor in half at the front of the cab and spun all around...train managed to stop and crew ran back to find stupid wandering around barefooted trying to find the flip flops he was wearing...not a scratch 0
