My Dog From The Pound

I got Bear my Bull Mastiff/Shepherd mix. More Mastiff than Shepherd though.

He was surrendered because the family moved. I have had him at least 3 years. I have never hit or mistreated him at all.

He is well behaved and very loveable. All he wants is rubbings all day every day.

Whoever had him before me beat him with a belt. nytime he sees me putting on a belt he leaves the room.[V] 99 times out of 100 i get dressed in the bathroom.

Today i got dressed in the bedroom and he was on the bed when i put my pants and my belt on the bed he just got up and left.

I would love to pay money to hit whoever did that to him.[V]

Bear is so cool i have had at least 10 people ask me to let them have him. I tell them to get them a dog and spend a lot of time with them and theirs would be the same.

    Akira our Akita / bouvier de Flanders mix rescue dog is missing the top 15% of his left ear and has scars from somebody burning him with cigarettes...

    He was papered and registered and both parents were pure breds - he was chipped and had a breeder tattoo...

    For him it is picking up a magazine or an umbrella - his reaction while much improved with us now is still heart wrenching and visceral

    Not only do I not understand who could torture an animal like that because we love our dog and see them as family members

    But also from the standpoint of how much he must have cost to purchase - who destroys an investment like that

    If I could get the guy who put out 16 cigarettes on him and who burned off the tip of his ear alone I would most likely not be able to control myself - I would like to do the same to him.

    i have had a number of previously mistreated dogs

    the worst one was a beagle
    not just A beagle but high priced papered show stock!

    she had gone out to 3 different homes and come back.

    breeder worked with my mom and gave her to me instead of putting her down cause he knew i was pretty good working with "problem" dogs

    anyone who has had a hound knows how they are with food, it took nearly 2 WEEKS to get the poor gal to come out from behind the sofa even for food [V]
    after several months she was my shadow
    waited each day at the time "dad" should be coming in from work

    tried to mother my daughter, and as she got older suffered being her "baby" wearing dresses and riding in the coach as she pushed her all over the house

    when i went in the hospital from work, the wife was frantic cause she wouldnt budge from the door waiting for me
    had to serve her food and water by the door, had to physically pick her up and carry her out the back to potty

    and yet till the day she died, that poor gal, one of the most puppyish loving breeds alive would roll on her side/back and pee herself if i picked up a board or yardstick in the shop

    someone give me even 5 minutes with whoever ruined her like that!!!

    R.I.P. ch pin oaks Buttons and Bows you at least had most of your time in a decent place

    There is a special place for people who mistreat animals and when I go I hope I can be the Chief Punisher.
    We got a rescue dog about 2 years ago. TY My Guy is a English Pointer (have a soft spot for Pointers) he had been mistreated I think he was beat with his leash when I would get it out he would cower and hang his head. Took awhile now if I get it he's ready to go. Saved two dogs that day him and the one who took his place in the shelter.
