Thinking about passing on a Ruger #1 in 243W. I have several hundred rounds of my reloads for it and no other 243 rifles. If gun sells, what to do with the ammo? Don't want to spend hours breaking it down. Sell as components and if buyer chooses to shoot them he assumes all responsibility because I said they should be disassembled? What would you do?

That is an option I have considered. But shooting so much just to get rid of it becomes too much like work. 0 -
Doc, I have found myself in that very same situation. For years I loaded and bought ammo just for the sake of having it. Now as I find myself getting older I question what would my wife do with all this stuff when I die. Gun shows are not an outlet for reloaded ammo, and it seems people are always looking for a different caliber than what you have.
My resolve has been for the past year to shoot up all the ammo I have for a specific gun, then sell it with brass and dies.
I will probably never live long enough to shoot up all the shot shells I have reloaded, but I am trying twice a month.0 -
How long does it take to go through them with a hammer style bullet puller? 2 - 3 minuets a round? Put a DVD in and get a banging. 0 -
My suggestion would be attempt to sell the gun locally to someone who would buy the ammo with it. We have a couple very active local firearm sites around here. 0 -
I don't want anyone buying my reloads to shoot them. Being married to a lawyer makes very conscious of liability. 0
