Arkansas guys,,conceled carry question

I flat refuse to get one personally but my Daughter-in-law wants one so I agreed to take her to the range this weekend. At what range/yards do they test ? One place I looked up said 5 yards another said 15 yards.. She is pretty good already but would like to get her in some practice at where they are going to test her.. Thanks

    I would suggest using a semi automatic also to qualify with. That way she can carry a semi auto or revolver. If you qualify with a revolver you can't carry a semi auto. She can use a 22 cal. to qualify if she wants.

    NM is also 7 and 5. Here we qualify with one or both semi and revolver, and caliber up to what we qualify with. Do qualify with both to keep maximum flexibility available, in case the revolver is in the shop, or is stolen.

    She has a M&P 9mm my son bought her and she is pretty good with it,, I have several auto 22's but she likes my slabside Buckmark so she is going to take both to the range. I have been looking at one of the new M&P EZ in .380 for her to carry, She wants a small purse gun and since she already likes her 9mm it may be a good option

    Take a look at the Sig 365, it is not hard to shoot, recoil is very manageable for such a small 9mm.

    The standard permit requires shooting a few rounds at short range (the 7 yards mentioned by others sounds right). You pass as long as you don't shoot out the window or something. I recall you had to shoot strong and weak hand.

    The "Enhanced" permit requires shooting 50 rounds from 3 to 15 yards. Have to put at least 46 into the scoring area. I had 43 with 3-4 missed due to the gun jamming on me.
