I'd have more respect for a president that doesn't have to point blame at others while doing nothing, like you blaming the Democrats for everything wrong in your world. Do something about it, instead of "wah wah wah, it's all the Democrats fault." Right now it's not all Trumps fault, it's actually the Republicans fault for allowing him to represent the party. The party I've supported all my life clearly blew it and now we have this crap every day. [B)]

All general officers are appointed by the president. To think politics never enters the equation when that decision is made is downright silly not to mention flat out wrong. I spent over 20 years in the Navy and Army and can certainly say I've seen more than my fair share of politicking from officers of all stripes, butter bars to general officers.
Presidents tend to appoint those whose views tend to align with their own. Qualifications sometimes take a back seat.
Here are 2 examples;
When I was in the Navy aboard the Enterprise our squadron's operations officer (can't remember his name at the moment) was set to do a night launch. He was a LTCMDR at the time and probably the best A-7 pilot I ever saw. He suffered a pilots worst nightmare on a night shot, Vertigo! He remained cool as a cucumber and safely trapped aboard as soon as the ship finished launching enough aircraft in order to have a ready deck for recovery. He was later passed over and never made it beyond that rank which was a shame. He wasn't political in any way but he was 100% a Navy man and 200% one helluva A-7 pilot.
The second was when I was in the Army. My second commander was a Captain named Bruce V Jackan. He was a West Pointer but don't let that fool you as he was a soldier thru and thru. He was the kind of soldier that you would put in a glass container with a sign that said "OPEN ONLY IN CASE OF WAR". He was supremely qualified as a grunt, as a leader of men, and totally believed in what he was doing. A born leader who only made it to Major and eventually left the service. He was general material just on pure ability alone. Personally I would have followed him down a loaded cannon knowing we were coming out the other end alive. He was that good!!!
There might be more to those 2 cases that I'm unaware of, my point is that sometimes the best and the brightest don't always ascend to the top.6 -

Well considering we haven't won a war with any Generals in the last fifty years or more I don't have a whole lot of faith in any of the ones who stayed in kept their nose clean and moved up in rank without actually accomplishing anything of value.
I mean everyone knows the only reason lifers stay in is because they can't cut it on the outside. [}:)]
I know from personal experience a whole lot of Veterans hated Obama and active duty Veterans seem to lean toward Trump. Maybe I just see it wrong as usual.
Either way my point was the MEDIA was bashing the POTUS because he went after I guy who attacked him, DUH.

From the first TV show or bankruptcy Trump has never been a man who had to act like and adult. He got elected because Americans are tired of the SOS from the rest of the cowards who run for office to enrich themselves and do nothing but enjoy the free ride.
