Snow Goose?

There's a 20+ acre field across the road from me that has been picked and disc-ed. A couple of days ago the Canada geese decided to glean it. There were at least a couple of hundred of them. Way on the far side of the field, by itself as far as I could tell, was a white goose. I thought at first that it was a swan but, through the binoculars, it didn't look quite right for a swan. Canadas are very common here but snows are not. Could/would a snow hang out with or near Canadas?

    Absolutely yes, they do.

    Absolutely, they will hang with other geese and they end up in unusual places. We get white pelicans in NM every few years.

    usually the snows-in large numbers- segregate themselves from canada geese, but mingle freely with specklebelly geese. loner snow or ross geese will join up with a canada flock...when you see large numbers of snows and blues mingling with "canadas it often is the smaller subspecies of canadas, ie Hutchisons or Duskies that you are seeing.hutchies are marked the same but are much much smaller than canadas duskies are generally overgrown mallard sized
