Bobcat Mounts -

My next door neighbor/buddy just texted me a photo of the mount he is picking up. 30-35#, stretched out on a 4-5" diameter Oak log, about 4-5' in length. Looks Awesome! I'm Jealous.

If you can post photos of any Bobcat mounts you may have, I'd be appreciative.


He was driving early AM to a gunshow a few months back. Saw it in the road. Stopped and picked it up. It looks Killer. He has some very nice mounts.

    I think Jerry Clower's friend John tried that. Things did not work out as intended.

    Would much rather mount a cougar.[:D]

    My bobcat mount is just a rug... But I think it's pretty cool, I can't upload photos because I use a smart phone

    Here are 2 bobcats I have. The one is walking on a log and the other one is standing on a log "swatting" at a quail. Notice the difference of the one walking, it has spots all over it and was taken in the mountains of Virginia in the early 90's. The one trying to catch a quail was taken about 10 years ago east of the blue ridge and has spots on its stomach only. Its back has almost no spots. It seems like all the bobcats around here look like this and west of the blue ridge, they have spots all over. Not sure why. The cat taken in the mountains was much bigger as well. Also in the second picture is a black "fox" squirrel taken in the mountains of Virginia also.

    Could a Bobcat mate with a feral/pet cat and produce offspring?

    Unlikely cross, but maybe possible, there are domestic cat crosses with Goeffrey's cat, Asian leopard cat, serval and jungle cat. In very many cases they do not turn out well temperamentally, and a large percentage end up in shelters for hybrids. I was envolved in hand raising an orphaned bobcat in a zoo setting. I continued to pet and play with her to adult size, about 35 pounds. She was still quite tractable and sweet, but her play time was rough. I needed to be well padded.
