    well golly GEE..granpa....they must have got sidetracked on their way to a church meeting...since i have lived here my home has been broken into 4 times...i really hope if there is a next time i am here to defend it fully and completely....perps got their justice in one lump instead of most likely incrementally as they continued thieving...... and the homeowner luckily survived a possible death or horrible beating....

    Grandpa says grandson and Friends broke into house threatening the homeowners what brass knuckles and it's not justified?

    Then he has the audacity to save this??? "Brass knuckles against an AR-15? C'mon. Who was afraid for their life?" Schumacher said.

    I sure would be scared to death if three teenagers broke into my house with brass knuckles and came after me...[V]

    Then he goes on to say that he supports the 2nd amendment but not for home invasions..[xx(][xx(] hey Grandpa, that's not just a home invasion, that's a home invasion by three thugs that are armed with deadly weapons... Sheesh

    Unfair advantage my ass. If your thrown into a life or death situation you want the advantage and fairness has nothing to do with it. There are no referees, you fight to survive and the homeowner did.


    Those were 3 stupid teenagers and the homeowner cured their stupidity.

    Old article - but the punks haven't hurt anybody since, have they?

    As to "fairness" I vow to keep a good variety of defensive weapons at hand, so that I can gauge the level of response needed in any attack on my person. I'll start with a powerful gun and work my way up from there.

    The grandfathers comments make me suspect the reason his grandson did this is because the grandson wasn't brought up to respect the rights of other people to be able to be safe in their own homes and if you are willing to break into someones home you had better be prepared to pay the price for it, up to and including losing your own life.
    I doubt this was his grandsons first crime, who goes from school kid to armed burglar with three accomplices?
    I don't hear grandpa saying how ashamed he is that his grandson did this, what I hear coming out of his mouth is "No one has the right to defend themselves even in their own home". Grandpas logic is a home owner has to match up his weapons for self defense with what his attackers have brought. If an attacker brought brass knuckles the homeowner has to arm his self with only brass knuckles, the attackers bring knives the home owner can only use a knife for self defense, etc.
    Hopefully Oklahoma has a law that protects a person from being sued by the family of a person that attacked them and was hurt or killed when the person defended themselves.
