Portland's famous cycling event will take place this summer, on Saturday, June 29. This will be the 15th iteration of the popular event, which once again is expected to draw throngs of nude and nearly-nude cy{elsewhere}s.

The World Naked Bike Ride is officially a protest - against our dependency on oil, for cy{elsewhere} safety and in support of body positivity. Attendees are also encouraged to adopt their own causes, often using their bare backs as protest signs. After another year of increasingly heated protests in the streets of Portland, it will be interesting to see how the naked bike ride tackles our contentious political discourse.
The event's motto is "bare as you dare," encouraging riders to dress down to their comfort. That means while there will certainly be thousands of nude cy{elsewhere}s, there will also be plenty of people riding topless or in costumes.
