Believe you mean 639. Stainless version of the original 39. Dating to the early 80's.

If it's a 639? Bought one used, years ago. Excellent condition, no box, papers, or accessories, though. Functioned & Shot, OK. But the crummy, lawyer proof trigger, sucked. When I finally decided to sell it, wasn't easy. First generation, single stack Smiths. Aren't especially sort after. After owning it 10 years. Wound up getting $50 less than I originally paid for it. I believe it was around $ 400/$425? Happy to get rid of it, though.0 -

Looks like on the completed auctions 450-600- with box and all the tools, papers, mint one went for 8000 -
if it is a 639 it will bring decent money if in very good to excellent shape.
there is nothing wrong with this Smith, but it is 40 year old tech and at the time it was made was an excellent carry gun with an acceptable trigger.
In fact they were a sought after pistol when introduced and lasted through many generational changes to style , size and model designation.
The current market is very active and it should generate plenty of interest on GB or an S&W fan forum website.
IMO values ; low end good condition 350-400,,,very good to excellent 450 to 650,, mint to nib 700 to 850.
as always-- condition, if you have original box, papers , accessories and the method used to sell it can greatly affect end price attainable.0 -
Maybe that's why I couldn't find one. They have changed the listing to a 639.

You might take a look at a 637, .38 special instead of .380, and mine was under $500 new. Very light weight, holds 5. 0
