Mr Heater

who uses one ?

looking at getting one for the box blind when its cold out and would use from time to time in the work shop if needed to help the ele heated knock the cold off.

Looking at the smaller one 4000-9000 btu for 89 or could go with the 4000-18000 for 139 but man it looks like a lot to lug going into the woods

    I used to sell these heaters, and have used a lot of them. For a blind, the smaller one is MORE than enough. It'll roast you out very quickly! If you need the bigger one for the shop, I'd get that one, but it'll be overkill for the blind.

    I also sold these, almost exact same thing as a Mr. Heater, but only $50!!

    They make a quite small one that runs on the smaller (16 oz?) bottles, designed for use on golf carts. One of those might be modanuff for a blind. Packable, too.

    Last year, I used a buddy heater (the small one) inside a three man dome tent during hunting season in the mountains of eastern Oregon. We got snow every day.

    I would turn that thing on each morning as I got ready inside the tent and within 10 minutes it would literally cook me out.

    A couple times I ran it during the night when I woke up cold. Wouldn't have to run it for more than just a few minutes to take the edge off.

    Typically, I ran it for a few minutes when I got into bed for the night too.

    I had it hooked up to a 5 gallon propane tank and in a week that I used it according to that barely moved the needle on the tank.

    used on last few years, have a small circular one goes on one pound bottle, runs about 4-5 hours will keep you warm. got one of bigger square with high low runs about 4 hours on a one pound bottle, will run you out of blind be good for shop with grill tank bottle....

    I use the Big Heater Buddy. You can connect two small propane tanks to it or a big one with a hose adapter kit. It also has an option of adding 4 D cell batteries and it runs a fan to circulate the air more. I use it in my man cave and stay nice and warm.

    I have a couple buddy and one big buddy heaters ( along with about any heating devise I have found I hate being cold [:D] ) .
    I bought them as a just in case item have about a dozen small propane tanks and a conversion hose to run the 5 gallon tanks .
    my son and nephews took them several times when camping out, they tell me they work great ( they did buy there own after using mine )

    One thing I have found, if you set your 5 lb. tank down in one of those plastic milk crates, it?s much more stable and easier to transport.

    I have two.
    A little Buddy single canister radiant and a Big Buddy two canister that has a small fan powered by D cell batteries.
    Our has seen much use camping, ice fishing and at Rodeos.

    Only issue I have seen is when camping above 7,500? elevation the little Buddy doesn?t seem to work as efficiently and sometimes hard to light, probably due to fuel air mixture at that elevation.

    Other than that, ours have been great little units and like in another post, great small tent heaters,

    I have the big buddy heater. once I get it to light it works fine.
    I have had to use a propane torch to get it to light when extremely cold

    So it appears Mr. Heater and Mr. Perfect are the same guy. How do I get another identity in case I want to do a meltdown thread and still be here?[}:)]
