Global warming/ cooling/flat line????

This is an interesting article, note how far under the ice the aircraft are and to think they go buried that deep in 70 years....WOW!

A nonprofit group searching for vintage aircraft in Greenland has reported they found the site of a P-38 wreck from the ?Lost Squadron? from World War II, buried about 340 feet deep in glacial ice. Arctic Hot Point Solutions surveyed the area using new ground-penetrating radar mounted on drones. When the radar showed what they believed to be an airplane, the team used a heat probe to tunnel through the ice and collect evidence from the site. The probe returned covered in 5606 hydraulic fluid, the team reported, confirming that the target is the missing P-38 ?Echo? from the Lost Squadron that landed on the ice in July 1942. The team plans to recover the airplane, using large heat plates to melt the ice and tunnel down to the site. They will then disassemble the airplane and recover it piece by piece.

    ...but all the ice is melting on its own through global warming,wait a little while and we'll fly it out

    Careful now...you might expose the fallacy of global warming and the idea of trying to date things through ice layers....based on other "known" findings that plane should be over a million years old! [B)][:p][:D]

    I was expecting hot by now but it's down right cold here. Bought a sleep mask thinking with the windows open I wouldn't be able to sleep during the day. Hell It's been a while since I even had to open the window for a breeze being so cold [:D].

    I remember reading about another WWII aircraft that was dug out of the ice of similar depths several years ago. It was totally restored at a very high cost by some multi ga-zillionaire and back in flying condition. Probably could find the story online if I had more time.

    Fascinating. Years ago a group from Atlanta recovered a fighter plane from the Greenland ice, I think it was part of the same squadron.

    If God really loved me, I would have been born in 1921 and would have flown a P38 in combat.

    Whats all of the hoopla for? Its simple. After landing, they didn't want the Planes to be found by the Japs or Germans so they took out they're shovels and dug 340 ft. down to bury them. "Al Gore".
