4473 ?

when did NICS change their protocol for asking the information on the 4473?
I had to listen to their BS and press 1 or 2 then give the drivers license info. then literally tell them "us citizen"

    i know on the 4473 form you must have a physical address.in our area there is a lot of people that do not have such an address. i guy came in yesterday to buy a fire arm. i asked for his ID. he gave me his Wv drivers license which stated longhaul road, level town Wv. although on a state document is that really a physical address ?

    Presumably this would go with the "real ID" trend.

    I just fill them out. Been thinking of getting a rubber stamp for that.

    my last dozen or so sales have required no phone call to nics

    They changed on the 16th of this month. If you use E Check, they now ask if the address on the ID is the same as the 4473 and you have to enter their ID number. You now have to enter their middle name or IO or NMN which wasn't required previously. And, just when you think you're done, you have to re enter their name.

    This is supposed to make the background check more reliable, or some such nonsense.
