Snake ?

Last week i found 2 snakes that were not poisonous but i do not know what they were.

They looked like fishing worms but were bigger. About 10 inches long and as skinny as a pencil.

They got relocated to the end of the property by my shop. Just have to keep them away from the house and my wife.

Any idea?

    I live about 1/3 of a mile from moccasin creek. Friday i went in my shop i killed one about 2 and 1/2 foot and today when i went in my shop i killed a bigger one almost 4 foot.

    Any ideas how to keep them away.

    Around here that would be a Ring snake.

    The ferret and the dog cornered a pretty sizable milk snake (I think that's the name - black color) in the back yard last weekend...

    I used a canvas bag and a tennis racket to collect it and place it behind the fence by about 10 yds...

    Think they kill mice and rats - which is okay with me but I don't want one of the animals tangling with it - and it seems to be a beneficial species

    The ferret has killed garter snakes - but they were small.

    Yours were neutral colored / brownish like an earthworm???

    Nature provides many venomous dangerous snakes with bright colors as a warning - but there are some non venomous imitators as well

    Milk snakes are red, black and white, most forms are banded, some with red blotches on b & w or gray background.
