Just came back in from shooting
I can shoot in by Backyard and I just came inside.
Man is it hot and humid!
I shot 3 revolvers all S&W's
120 rounds through my 629-1 with a Mountain Revolver barrel[;)] 245gr KT Cast with 19gr of AA#9
200 rds of CCI Blazer through my M17-2 6"
120 rounds through my M14-4 38 spl shooting 155gr KT cast with 5.5gr of AA#5
Now I have to clean them.
I shot pretty good today, I had the dueling tree moving especially with the 44[:0]
For the last 15 years or so I have been shooting nothing but Autoloaders and really lost my mojo with a wheelgun. Its coming back though and I feel much more confidant.
I like Autoloaders but there is just something about a wheelgun.

I used to shoot both Pistols and revolvers equally well but I never felt the rhythm when shooting a semi auto fast that I would when shooting a good revolver double action. I really noticed this in bowling pin matches where I could shoot in the mid 4 second range consistently with either a Colt Gold Cup shooting 230 gr ball or a S&W mod 19 6" shooting 158 gr. soft points but the revolver always felt better. 0 -
I enjoy shooting revolvers much more than Autos.
I shoot Autos better but my revolver shooting is coming back.0 -

I have 100 yards here at the house and in fifteen years I have shot here exactly once. The neighbors don?t care but I have a range on the other side of my office wall at work. [:)] 0 -
we had family and friends over on Saturday ( I posted about it )
I am glad to be able to walk out back and fire away we have a back stop and its just at 100 yards from a old barn pad we have the benches and firing positions set up
sadly I do not get out and blast away like I use too ..

I used to have about 5.5 acres in the MN river valley. 350 foot frontage and about a mile or so to the nearest neighbor . So I could get 100 yards for long guns and the back half of my property was hill side with a bit of flat woods on the top.
Good deer travel through the top of the hill, wild turkeys on my lawn and river fishing within a walk. Had to sell it about 8 years ago now due to poor health.
No indoor range near me now and I am in a wheel chair. Haven't pulled a trigger in some time - I absolutely hate this efficiency apartment life even though it is better than the nursing home (barely).
At least here I can still keep firearms even though I don't get to shoot them.
On topic is my choice for handguns has always been revolvers. You also don't have to chase brass with them. I own a couple autos . One of course is a 1911 style commander in .45 acp and the other a plastic bottom gun also in .45 acp . Both have been very reliable. Wish I could shoot off my deck like I used to . [xx(]0 -
Sounds like you had fun Sam, even with the heat!
I spent my mid-morning out in my backyard shooting my newest built by me, 60 caliber flintlock rifle. Have been working up a good load for this fall's deer season.
My range is only out 33 yards and into a hill bank but the deep woods I hunt makes most shots 30 yards or less.
Shot only 20 rounds in the hour and a half I was out there and took another 40 minutes or so to clean the rifle. I beat the heat of the afternoon which got up to 92 degrees by 3 o'clock!0 -

Me too..And you don't have to bend over and pick up your brass[^]0 -
I have been able to shoot out the back door for over 70 of my 79 years. I had the whole family here for the fourth of July and it was a great shoot. It's about 40 yards out to shoot and I can stretch it out to 200 yards to the berm. There is no houses in line with me for over two miles. I feel very fortunate.
