Computer Guys?????

Yesterday I got this problem that is driving me nuts. It calls itself "Critical alert from Microsoft, your computer has alerted us that it is infected with virus and spyware."

I had this once before but a 13 yo boy was visiting and took care of the problem! Jack just sat down at my computer, clicked on something, scrolled thru a few things, clicked again and just like magic "IT" was gone. The problem is I don't remember what Jack clicked on to start the process.

Who knows where I need to click to get rid of this mess??

    Maybe nothing more than malware has infected your computer. Download a 14 day free trial of Malwarebytes update it and run it.

    It can also be a scam that directs to you a website, which immediately downloads ransomware to your computer. DO NOT click on anything that looks like a link.

    First, run the Windows Malware Removal Tool (download it if you don't it already). The, as suggested above, download and run the free version of Malwarebytes (an excellent program.)

    you don't say what browser you are using but I would say try looking thru your browser settings first

    Check to see if you have an add-on causing it. What browser are you using.

    Don't click on the window !!!!!

    At the bottom of the screen in the right corner is the time, right click on the time and go to task master.

    End the task of the browser you are using, that will take it off the screen.
    then do a scan of computer.
