Discontinuance of Accessory Classifications
Effective Immediately:
The Firearms Technology Industry Services Branch (FTISB) classifies firearms as defined by the Gun Control Act (GCA) and National Firearms Act (NFA) based on the configuration and the design features of the firearm as submitted by members of the industry.
Effective immediately, any requests for a determination on how an accessory affects the classification of a firearm under the GCA or NFA must include a firearm with the accessory already installed. Except in cases of conditional import determinations, FTISB will not issue a determination on an accessory unless it is attached to the submitted firearm.
If you have previously submitted a sample accessory for classification, FTISB will be returning your sample without classification. FTISB will contact you in the near future with further instructions to facilitate the return of your sample.

The ATF got burned big time on the Bump Fire Stocks, which were submitted as an aid for disabled shooters who lacked suitable arm strength. I doubt that there was any question at Bump Fire that their device simulated full automatic fire in a semi auto, but you can well imagine the ATF's ruling if they had submitted it as such. Now the ATF wants to see any future gizmos (although I doubt there will ever be any more) attached to a firearm to see what they are actually capable of. 0 -

Will eventually end up ..the way it is sold is the way it will remain. 0 -

I will agree then register them all will be coming a few before banning
just like the bump stock on our dime turn it in or destroy it with proof
so much for the NRA and all the gun groups "fighting " for gun owners rights not even being compensated is BS in its own right
