Today I found out my Mini-14 wasn't a Y2K rifle
Unless dude bought it while confused [:D][:D][:D]. When I bought her I was told the dude bought it for Y2K. Thinking the dude bought her back in 1999 in preparation for year 2000. But the rifle was made in 2001 from what I found out today 196-70XXX. Unless Ranch Rifles use a different numbers?
At least she was reasonably priced at $500 and change with tax and DROS. Not like today where they're close to a grand.

I use too have several mini 14's and mini 30's , some were even never fired in the box I bought before Clinton moved to the Oval office
they were always my my poor mans AR15
I sold all but one of mine mine off years ago to buy a couple AR15's
I would have never dreamed the AR would become so cheep ( less expensive ) than a ruger and countless models and makes and even built it your self versions flooding the market ( a big mistake on my part for sure selling the rugers )
I did make money on the factory 10 20 and 30 round factory mags for a short time they were in big demand I was getting 100 to 150.00 for a new in the box 30 round ruger mag was easy to get even the 10 round were hard to find and rarly showed up for sale when I did get one it brought a real nice price selling to Kaliforina and states that outlawed any thing else over 10 rounds , I still have maybe 10 factory 20 and 30 mags stored away for my rifle
after the ban expired the bottom fell out of the demand0
