Pillow case or bags for Trick or Treating?
So whats your preference. Certainly not paper bags! A Halloween fail for getting the goods.

Hand truck and new 20 gallon garbage can from Wal-Mart.To be honest, Halloween is not my favorite day. In 1967 I wound up in the hospital for 5 weeks and lost a eye because of that day.

pillow case showed you were a pro in my neighborhood mosr were just paper bags
as a kid it was the one day a year we received more candy than all of the rest of the year combined including Christmas.
tried to make it last but about a week
there was a family lived next door that would haul there kids to all the surrounding towns with different nights for trick or treat
same family sold food stamps for 1/2 value and government cheese 5.00 a box0 -
Something about turning Halloween into a Holiday (Holy Day) just don?t seem right to me. Most of the Churches around here ?celebrate? Halloween trying to keep the kids in a safe place. That?s a good reason to put on a good show for the kids, but Churches celebrating a Holy Day to honor witches and demons just doesn?t sit well with me.
When I was a little kid we celebrated Halloween. The schools called it ?Fall Festival?. It has been around for centuries but I was a grown man before I heard it called a Holiday.0 -
I am not any history or religious understudy by miles [B)]
but I have read during the early days the church incorporated a lot of the pagan holidays and beliefs into Christianity to get converts and more or less compromise to get more members into the church .

In the days when paper bags were commonly passed out at all grocery stores, and paper was the bag of choice of trick-or-treaters, an acquaintance came up with a dirty trick.
He kept a large pitcher of water by the front door. When a little kid held his bag out for a treat, our hero would deftly dump about 1/2 gallon of water into the bag. In most cases, the water would quickly take out the bottom of the bag, leaving the little kid crying, running back down the walk, strewing candy behind. Candy that my acquaintance picked up for himself.0 -

I caught my dad one year ,
back ground
wife and I use to go back into town to take our kids and pass out candy .
gave away 10X what our kids would get but we wanted them to experience the fun . I think I enjoyed it more than getting candy as a kid
any way I noticed my dad ( RIP ) would tap / rattle the bag but not drop any candy in and also taking his cigarette butts and tossing in the kids bags .
he found that funny . one of the very few times I was upset at my dad . I let him know how low that was for all the kids the candy and excitement of the day meant to them . he told me he only did it to the "kids" that looked like they were way to old to be out . I cant say he never did it again but I did make him feel bad for that night anyway
oh ya what about the big kids that would take the smaller kids candy by force or threats [:(!] hiding in the darker sections of the streets0
