I'm back. Successful trip to SE Montana

We hunted 9 days for Cow or Spike Bull Elk and deer in SE Montana. Weather was warm, but beautiful. Food and friends were remarkable.
I got a nice Spike Bull opening morning. That was the only opportunity for anyone. One shot at 110 yards with a 180 grain 30-06 and 60 yards later, there he was stone dead. He came right into my trap about 730am! Efficiency, my friends!
Got a 5X5 Muley a few days later. Nothing huge, but a nice deer. Everyone else got deer, one nice 5X5 Whitetail and a big 4X3 Muley.
Love Elk hunting! Hopefully, one of us will get a Bull tag soon!!

    nice! my son is heading out there thursday through sunday. doe antelope, doe muley, buck whitetail, cow elk tag for firearm...he has bow tag for bull[his preferred method]

    What area does he hunt? Saw quite a few speed goats along the road!

    he hunted that 2 years ago. did well...hunting area a little south west of there now. i should specify his bull tag archery is more local in the bitterroot
