Brings up a memory about a fellow worker of mine whose dad passed and he had "a gun" he wanted to get rid off. OK, I said what is it? Hmm, it has two barrels, he said. Ok, be over about 18:00 to look at it.
Got there, some neighbor came over and asked if he had any thing sporting that his dad had left him.. he bought it.
I got there and he made a sales receipt," Browning Over/ Under gauge 410 with Browning case..$100.00

TRUE STORY:
I know a woman who had an elderly Mother. The Father did well in business over the years and his boss used to give him New Guns as part of his bonus every year. The Father didn't hunt or have any real interest in guns, but, the boss always told the guy that the guns are better than cash down the road....Fast forward 25-30+- years and the Father passed away and the Mother was always short on cash. The couple I knew used to give the Mom money every month so she could "live a little better".
One day, they tell me about all these guns the Mother has in boxes on the closet shelf. At least 20 or more! Well, The Mother literally forgot about what were in the boxes!
Until........[:(]
I suggest next time they visit Mom to write down what the labels say on the end of some of the boxes, or just grab the boxes and bring them home, I'm sure I can find a fair buyer if I'm not interested in them myself.
A number of months later they came home and give me a small piece of paper, with the following notes!! ALL the boxes were Browning! "Midas", "Diana", Broadway, 410, 28 gauge, 20 gauge, etc!! They only looked at 6-8 boxes!! The Mother didn't want them "messing up the guest closet"!
I said, call your Mom right away and I'll come with if necessary to go get them. (about 3-4 hours away). I said, if this is close to true, she has a small fortune sitting there!!
Well, they wanted to wait a couple of months until the next holiday. In the mean time, the old lady called the local police department and asked them to come get them out of the house because she was uncomfortable having guns in the house!!![xx(][xx(][B)][B)]0 -
