Gun rack

Saw a home gun rack on here yesterday. It was a home made rack in a home. It had a double offset rack with maybe 20 guns. Can someone point me to the thread/

    I need some help. My gun safe rack is to tight, so I need to make new ones. 1st I did a 1.5" opening and 1" gap between the opening. Still to tight. Now I thinking of 1.5" opening and 1.5" for the gaps between the opening. Is this s good set up?

    Is the gun rack horizontal or vertical? I am guessing its vertical. I would say 2 inches between guns because it depends on what millimeter scopes you have on the guns.

    2 50mm scopes will not fit right. In my safes i can never get the amount of guns in the safe they say you can. With scopes, slings and bipods it never fits right.

    Another thing to think about is how far from the back wall will your pieces be so your gun will not be just resting on the scope.

    I would have 2 1/2 inches wide at the bottom and a 3 inch gap between each gun. I also would have 3 inches from the wall to my barrel rest.

    I could not build it this way because space is a premium. I have to much junk.[:(]

    I have to move 6 just to get to the one i want.

    Center to center it's 3" and it's vertical, but it's from back to front. Mostly ARs and Garands

    Don't know if you would want to consider the following as a possible arrangement or not, but here it is:

    I have a large gun safe that holds 30 longguns in circular cuts that measure about 2 & 1/2 inches across. The circles are on the right hand side of the shelf/safe, and the shelf is covered with a carpet like material. It has 30 circles cut in it. 5 circles to a row across and 6 rows deep. Center to center of circles in each row across, and from front to rear is about 3 & 1/2 inches in distance. Every other row across measures about 19 & 1/2 inches wide, for a maximum width, measured from the left side of the circle on the left, to the safe's wall on the right, and a maximum depth of about 22 & 1/2 inches, with the offset rows measuring about 3 & 1/2 inches less over the same distance.

    I really like this circular-hole type arrangement as it allows me to place each buttstock, some large and some small exactly where I want it to be, which also helps greatly when storing scoped guns. Also, this leaves me with about a 15 inch width from top to bottom of the safe on the left hand side for storage of hand guns, ammo, or what not.
