My Dad's cousin survived the Bataan Death March. He couldn't bring himself to discuss anything about it. He weighed less than 80 lbs when he was released. I can't imagine what he went through, he had to be one tough SOB to make it. 0 -
its been a long time since we had a president like Truman. it feels kind of comforting knowing he aint taken gruff off of anyone. he certainly reflects my American outlook on things. 0 -

I have heard the number of others in the pipeline was between 9 amd 12.0 -
plutonium was about the rarest material on earth at the time and e-x-p-e-n-s-i-v-e
it wasn't because it was difficult to make the bomb. difficult to engineer of course, but once made and tested they could make 1000 of them.
if the plutonium didn't cost a billion dollars a shot.
