I think of all the money poured into the Wake County School system here in NC and I just shake my head.
The School system gets so much money its not even funny. They get Money from Whiskey sales and tax, Property tax, Sales tax, The Lottery and I am sure I am missing someone but its a mound of money.
And they cannot even hire teachers that can pass a math test[}:)]

What he should have said was "thank god for the test that ID'ed substandard teachers before they started teaching".

I dated a fifth grade teacher here in Alabama a couple of years ago. I was all excited because she was a nice looking 35 something woman. I assumed she had better than average intelligence.
I knew I was in trouble when I mention "Are you smarter than a fifth grader" and got a vacant stare. After the second date it was obvious there would not be a third. She was a dumb as Kellie Pickler.

I barely graduated HS and was an Enlisted Infantry soldier for 25 years, in other words I am a Knuckle Dragging Dumbass to most of the people in this country and I had no problem with those questions.
The most math I used was In Army Schools like Halo, Pathfinder, Scuba and Jump Master schools where I had to determine things using a formula.0 -

Hahaha, hardly. The last satisfying encounter I had with an Alabama woman was 15 years ago. In a bar, a skinny little blonde was arguing with a guy about the Brits giving Hong Kong back to China. The guy was an idiot and totally clueless, but the chick was amazing me even knowing HK existed.
I took my beer over and sat down with her. I had her locate HK on a napkin just to prove she wasn't parroting something she heard. To my utter amazement she correctly located China, India, the South China Sea, HK, and Macao right across the bay from HK.
We stayed together two years until I could no longer deal with her pot smoking. She just veged out on pot.
As far as the teacher, I couldn't wait to get away from the dumb bitch. She did know about probiotics though since she sold them on the side. [;)]0 -

Ends, justify the means mentality is pervasive in government. It's seen every where, rather than addressing the problem it's easier to lower the standard.

I told a school board member at a meeting one night years ago that I knew how to save the county $4,000 per child that was in school and give them a better education and had the numbers to prove it and when they asked how, I said put the same child in private school for $4k a year and save 4 of the 8k they were spending per child then. they told me to sit down. 0 -
