When the Republicans were voted into a majority in Congress Clinton had the good sense to see that the public wanted more conservative policies and he started working with the Republican controlled Congress and that's when things started going good for the economy and government spending. Let's also not forget that Bill Clinton also assigned the job of coming up with a new health care policy to the Hildabeast and like most things she touched was a complete disaster.

When are liberals ever going to understand that the economy always drops when a liberal is in office, and the economy rises when a conservative is in office....

I guess you missed the 1990s

No I didn't miss the 90s, but Clinton's economic policies were considered conservative even though he was a liberal. So as far as economics through his administration, they WERE conservative... That is why he was considered a conservative liberal, because of his he economic policies.

So I stand by my statement. Precious metals prices rise during liberal administration's and decline during conservative Administrations.

Anything can happen, last time it was at $10 was Feb. 2006. Overall all inflation has been 22 % between 2006 and 2017. So, call it 25% today.
    http://www.in2013dollars.com/2006-dollars-in-2017?amount=100

In real dollars a 2006 $10 ounce of silver would be $12.50 in 2018.

With this reasoning, the buy this year would be 12.50, today price 14.00 so, needs to drop $1.50. However, looking at the the charts, I'd say it would need to go lower to make it an attractive buy. Unless there is some kind of financial calamity that appears to be longer than a few years.

The average price between 1990 and 2006 was around $6.00. I'd say adjust for inflation based on $6.00 and use that as a target. My opinion, the spike in prices between 2005 and 2014 was due to the economy in the U.S. during that time. Trump hasn't done gold and silver bugs any big favors.[:D]

I am going to, very soon, buy a 100 ounce bar. Or, I might buy 2 or 3 of 'em.

Love those silver bars and also, love gold coins.

Strangely the premium on 100 oz bars is higher than on one oz bars or coins. It also defeats the purpose of being able to dispose of small amounts for small items. In those quantities you would be better off with gold.

    ^I agree^

I read one of those doomsday books and a guy traveling back to the US sewed gold coins into his clothing, bought an illegal Sig P228 in Germany and made his way home. He would do a gold for silver exchange to have small coins as he went so he could keep big value in gold and the ability to buy small stuff with silver coins.

I realize it was fiction but the idea has merit even for those that will stay put. 100 ounce bars are not far off what one ounce of gold would be.
Not only is gold lighter but much easier to hide in the any day now impending gonna happen for sure zombie apocalypse Serf keeps reminding us about

I bought two 100 ounce silver bars from JM Bullion last month.
This is a great company I have been buying from them for 30 years.

I love these big silver bars and I like to fondle them while resting on the sofa.

Also bought some one ounce Krugerrands from JM.

Also, for my grandchildren, bought them some 10 ounce silver bars from JM, good present for a teen age yard-ape.

Silver & gold went "down" because the Dollar went up. Check the exchange rates against all the major currencies.

I am not buying it as an asset to appreciate. On the other hand, it will always be worth something.

No, it is valuable and I just love having those big silver bars to play with. Worth $1500 a piece now and probably won't go down much.

I don't like the stock market.

Silver and Gold are both crashing due to a strong dollar.

Now might be the time to invest in mining companies

That big mine was just approved in Minnesota last week, copper and zink. Should be enough mining for the next 50 or more years. Huge mine.

Might be better to buy into mining equipment manufacturers like Cat.

I think I?ve gotten rich enough on silver. In 2015 I bought 60 1 ounce silver coins @ $19.02, TOTAL $1,141.30. Now @ $14.43 it?s worth $865.80 for a gain of ... HOLY poop! I didn?t get rich. I should have done that when I was younger. Now I won?t live long enough to break even. Never thought I?d live long enough to be too poor to sell silver. [xx(] [:D]

In 2010 my dad passed away at the age of 88. In his personal safe that no one was allowed to look in was almost 1000 ounces of silver, complete with the paperwork of when it was purchased and for how much. Most of it was acquired for $4 to $8.50 per ounce. We debated selling it all but decided to keep it since it had been such a good investment for him. (Silver was $42 at the time). It is all in a safe deposit box at my brother's in Chicago now. At today's price, we have lost $28,000 in exactly 8 years.
What's sad is that this is not an unusual rate of return on my investments.

I just bought 20 Mexican 25 peso silver Olympic coins for $195 less the 2% rebate on my credit card on the site we can't mention. I just checked the APMEX site & they want $212.60 without a credit card. Can't see why people would WANT to pay 11% more.

An ounce of gold is heavier than an ounce of feathers. 480 grains in an ounce of gold. 437 grains in an ounce of feathers.

    Troy oz= 31.1 grams 12 Troy ozs= 1 troy pound= 373.2 grams

    Avoirdupois oz= 28.35 grams 16 ozs= 1 pound= 453.6 grams

So one oz of feathers weighs less than one oz of gold but one
pound of feathers weighs more than one pound of gold.

Sometimes I get the symbol that lets me edit or delete & sometimes I don't. Sometimes it doubles, sometimes it doesn't & sometimes it even triples.
