When is Isarel going to take the gloves off?
I am deeply impressed with the restraint the Israeli people show towards nutcase violent neighbors.
The Israeli's live next to a deeply insane group of people with a trash culture of death and mayhem. The Palestinians have a government sworn to destroy Israel as part of its platform.
The people of Israel suffer attacks by rockets, mortars, suicide bombers, rock throwing youth, flaming balloons and kites, knife attacks and all manner of violence against them.
Yet, the response by the Israeli Government is a slap on the hand.
I don't get it; if the Canadians were doing the exact same things to the USA we would put up with it for all of 30 seconds. Why does Israel?

Well, quite recently, we would have put up with it for eight years from Canada. We've been putting up with almost as much from the other border for decades. 0 -
The Israelis are not stupid. They are surrounded by neighbors that want to see them eradicated from the face of the earth. They are all looking for a reason for a war. Israel has to play a balancing act. Go too far and all the neighbors jump in for an all out brawl. The Middle East would get sucked into major chaos, and we would be dragged into it as welll. 0 -

Honestly, at the heart of it, I think the nation of Israel truly wants peace. They will occasionally use just enough force to defend themselves and show they are not pushovers...mean while they are, as the years go by, slowly building one of the most well trained and largest citizen soldier armies the world has seen...and they have also been building the warfare tech to back it up, to the point now that several countries in South America have been turning to them for Military contracts.
They want to be left alone, they are not looking for a fight, just making sure they are ready for when (not if) the next one comes.0 -

Actually, in many ways you are describing the southern border, and we too are tolerating it.
We have Border Patrol and Texas DPS officer shot at on a regular basis from across the Rio Grande, as well as other border incursion and violence with very little response.0 -

As someone said on another thread, the problem with Russia is not Islam it is the government. The problem with Palestinians is not the people, it is the descendants of the PLO and Hamas. Most of the Palestinians living in the West Bank and in Gaza realize that their level of employment and standard of living has increased vastly due to Isreal. They have sewers that are no longer open, electricity, and jobs.
As long as the governing bodies of those areas strives for the elimination of Israel "from the river to the sea" there will be conflict. The people and government of Israel understand the difference.

Canada, it not the same kind of retribution, the U.S. can bide their time. Could be Israel has a big hammer and the time may come when, it's use it or lose it.
