    The cops didn't go there to murder a person. They were called to the scene by some concerned friend.
    They saw a problem with the patient and tried to get her to get some medical care and she pulls a gun on them, fake gun but it looked real.

    If the cops had just walked out as you suggest, and then, ten minutes later she had a seizure and died from inhaling her own vomit, can happen during Grand Mal seizures, then what would the public have said about the police response?
