Well it may be happening sooner then you think. The young voters want to have their vote to be heard. It's an incoming high tide for sure! If you live in a Minority controlled state, county or city you will be first on the list.

In addition to passing defiant gun restrictions, some towns are also beginning to target the state pre-emption laws directly. In Florida, 10 cities sued the state, saying its penalties for passing local gun laws #9472; including removal of elected leaders from office #9472; were unconstitutional.
That lawsuit, city officials say, could create an opening to pass local regulations.
"Attacking the penalty provision was a first step these municipalities have taken, and there will be more challenges to the pre-emption statute itself," said Aleksandr Boksner, chief deputy city attorney for Miami Beach. "This is nothing more than a first step."

Local governments in Texas have no jurisdiction over weapons. That has been wisely pre-empted by the State of Texas. 0
