Fluted chamber. I'd just FL every time and accept case life will likely be shorter than a non fluted chamber. How much shorter? I'd load say 10 rounds until failures appear. Inspect well at every firing.

    Used Nato brass is/was cheap.

Are you sure it's a FAL? There is no reason for a FAL to have a fluted chamber.

Ya know, there's a reason this rifle was underpriced; it's a FrankenFAL!!!
I was cleaning it, and tryin' to find anything other than the German proof on the barrel, the Israeli (?) stamp on the receiver, the "Brazilian" IMBEL logo, or the (turns out to be a)PTR 91 mag with custom options.
I shoulda bin more wary about a homemade gun than happy to get another "STG58" version.
Cleaned up real purty, trigger plunger was gross.
Maybe got a HK91 barrel on it, or mighta been from DSA; for +/-$400, I think it'll work.

Buy a bunch of Berdan primed surplus ammo and don't even bother picking up spent brass.
