upcoming competitions and shooting events
owning guns is half the fun.
shooting them is the other half.
a lot of clubs post flyers for upcoming rifle/pistol/shotgun matches, fun events, and fund raisers for a good cause.
if you know of any and think it would benefit the gb members, place it here. rifle, pistol, shotgun.
add in the first sentence.....what state its in and what discipline.

ALWAYS CHECK THE LAST POST FOR THE MOST CURRENT EVENT.

What a GREAT suggestion 0 -
Heckuva idea, but with 52 weekends per year, and a good shot at 40 disparate matches on each one would use a buttload of 1s & 0s.
Gotta remember; if GB ain't making any money on it, it prolly won't happen.0 -
not true. a lot of shooters at matches listen to others talk about guns they saw for sale on gb and other sites. word of mouth has sold more guns for gb than they realize. 0 -
Very true.
But think, if GB can't/won't repair the forums email system (which, I daresay creates volumes more bidness for GB); what's the indicator that they'd use so much more bandwidth to advertise matches?
Whether GB realizes which revenue streams produce more sales or not isn't an issue for me; I will buy more "stuff" when there's a way to communicate with the sellers on here or anywhere else.0 -

here, im suggesting a topic that would attract people who are pro gun, like to buy ammo and guns, and would,....and who knows? might even bid on a gun or accessories on gb to go to a match maybe for the first time....and I get people telling me gb wont support that?
wow.
Another 'PLUS' might be if said competitor realized/discovered they need a different firearm than the one they took to the competition.
If only there was a website where one could search for the correct firearm(s)
Example: When I took up skeet, a good friend loaned me his 870 20 gauge. Once bitten for the bug, I searched GB for the 'proper' O/U and bought it.0 -
whats wrong with a shameless plug to the shoot???? like folks do for their auctions... 0 -
exactly.
I contacted mark c on the matter. lets see what becomes of it.
I say its a win win.
afterall, we're just talking sticking a topic.0 -
Consider your competition thread stickied (if that is in fact a word) when needed. 0 -
when two forward thinking people unite, its a powerful thing for positive change.
done.

PIG IRON CLASSIC

In case you missed it, here's this year's 'course'. It was BRUTAL
The plates, dueling tree and Texas Star are 'easy' enough but that small black target in the center (known as the Spartan) was source for many a DNF. It was supposed to take 6 shots to complete. At least that was the 'plan'.

No, I'm not. However, I've shot several matches @ the Negaunee Rod and Gun club and like to support their efforts.
The Pig Iron Classic is all about steel plates and dueling trees. In the Winter they have a matched called the Frigid 300 (March) that lives up to it's name.
The club boasts a 600 yard rifle range and full complement of Skeet and Trap. And the UP is a great vacation spot (for the whole family).
Check out their calendar!

some of my trap machines came from u-p over on the Wisconsin side, where a club was upgrading. I scored some classic western traps from them. 0 -
There are three 'clubs' locally that offer Skeet & Trap. Oddly enough they are within the same 4 mile square. As urban sprawl drives the land values up, I'd be surprised of all stay 'open'.
Have you ever had the occasion to shoot @ Detroit Gun Club in Walled Lk, MI? I used to live 'around the corner' and they often hosted BIG shoots where the competitors were all driving huge RVs. I'm sure that's common around the 'circuit' but not real common in WL.

And for you history buffs, if you google the address for the DGC and open the map, scroll North of the club and you will see the remains of a Drive-In-Movie site. They share the same property line!0 -

hello sir . We have a 14 point indoor 25 yard range with targets that we can travel from the shooting benches to the high impact steel back stop and automated voice commands for timing for the three time limits
for bulls eye matches we bought all the steel etc from a police dept that was up dating there ranges about 20 years go
we have a 50 & 25 yard outdoor range also 14" point with both automated voice commands as well as automated turning targets at 25 yard line being we don't need turning targets for slow fire at 50 yards
Also a ransom rest for testing 25 & UP TO 100 YARDS HAVE PICTURES BUT SINCE PHOTO BUCKET GOT GREEDY 'CAN'T POST ON GunBroker0 -
