I recently created a cocktail I named the Bah Humbug.

Two or three dashes orange bitters

    One ounce 100% cranberry juice

    Two ounces London Dry Gin

Serve over ice with an orange peel garnish (twist to get orange oils spritzed on the surface)

If I had the ingredients on hand I would try it.

So I will substitute bourbon for the gin and ice cubes for all the other stuff.

I think old fashions and manhattans are on the menu today.

austin, did you know that more California's E&J Brandy is shipped to Wisconsin than anywhere else in the world? It's because of the extreme popularity of the "Wisconsin Old Fashioned" which is made with brandy instead of rye whiskey.

IMHO, they could have picked a better brandy - I dumped a nearly full bottle of the stuff because it was awful. I make my brandy OFs with Courvoisier. MUCH better.

Also very popular this time of year in Wisconsin is a drink called the Tom and Jerry made with brandy. Had those after snowmobiling at a friends house. As I recall, they were pretty sneaky drinks.

May have to give the BH a try though, unlike Rocky, my gin season usually runs from ~Memorial Day To ~Labor Day.
