10° in the bedroom this morning. Doesn’t take long to put my britches on !!! 😆

That cold makes things shrink up and you know what happens when that happens, 😱

5* degrees here at 6pm, up to 8* now. 76* at eye level in the house, gas boiler doing its stuff.

Wood boiler out of commission until I get the gumpiton to hook up a line that came loose a while back. Lost all my water , antifreeze and conditioner.

84, how is that new tin heater working?

How much snow did you get in the outskirts of the metropolis of Mtn. City?

5 inches +- here and still melting from below. Snow we have fell about 40 miles south of here, wind blew it up here.

Butchdog2 - that new "High Efficiency" Wood Stove has been great. 2X the heat on easily 2/3 the wood. Smaller wood box has not been an issue. 19" X 19" X 14" I can still load it up with pretty good sized split chunks. My Heat pump does not click on (as I was told would happen) when I keep it loaded. I keep my house around 61°-65° though to hold down the $$. Not insulated as well as I would like, plus it's a 3 story super steep pitched A frame Chalet. All the heat goes up to the peak, open living room, can look up 3 stories.

I'd also say we got 5" or so. We got 4" Dec. 24th overnight, and got maybe another 1-2" overnight last night. Beautiful out.

Kept water dribbling out the sinks. 12° seems to be my threshold, where I have to start worrying about pipes freezing. Whoever plumbed my house was an idiot. (Long story.)

(But) I was told my place was a summer getaway for people who lived on the coast. Probably drained the plumbing, didn't worry about it. etc.

Did you put in the Pacific Energy stove? We put in the Neo 2.5 insert. That thing is so efficient I went to clean it out the other day and I had not loaded it in over 12 hours and there was still hot embers in the ashes.

I have a Harmon wood furnace in the basement that feeds the hot air system. The PE Neo is so efficient it heats the whole house so have not even used wood furnace.

A friend in Teguldet, Tomsk Region of Siberia, Russia sent me a picture of his outside thermometer. it showed -46 C. (-50 F). I sent him a picture of the thermometer on my porch (in SW Arkansas). It showed 62 F. (17 C.) today about 1:00 pm.

It was 24 here at about 4 am. Supposed to only drop to 27 tonight, and then back on a slight warming trend. I'm loving having a semi-real winter in N. Central Florida again after quite a few years of virtually no winter.

got near 50 here in the high desert. Hiked in the river forest for 4 miles or so. And rewarded myself with Rhum.

Typical Wisc. here. Lake froze over and they are ice fishing the inlet. Main portion still too thin. The open areas are full of geese & ducks. A few Bald Eagles checking those pot holes out early this AM.
