    Here is a short tutorial:

Shipping Ammunition: UPS - United States
UPS accepts for transportation such ammunition as constitutes 'cartridges, small arms,' as defined in 49 C.F.R. § 173.59.

Hey Eddie, good to see you post! nononsense poster up the shipping requirements for ammo. We have a place in town called United Package Express, and they are an authorized UPS, and FedEx shipping hub. That's where I ship ammo from. It doesn't really cost much more than for me to label and ship it, and they are up on all the current requirements. I thought they were some chain store, but looking on the computer, it looks like they are a one-off outfit. Maybe you have something similar near where you live. If not you'll have to take it to a UPS or FedEx hub. Take care, and have a great 2021!

Save yourself some money on the consumer commodity stickers, and use a sharpie to draw it on...

Thanks for your help, we are doing fine here. Not paying much attention to the quarantine. Drove 130 miles to spend Christmas with three generations of family. Who knows it may be our last get together for awhile. Logging is still going strong here because of the huge fires we had. Some areas are clear cut for miles. Stay safe and be careful on those haul roads! Eddie

I didn't know that, thank you. Daughter will be happy to get some ammo. She is retired Air Force with 25 years active. Absolutely no ammo in the Colorado Springs area, not even the B.X.

I was thinking that Jan 1 the ORM-D label was being dropped, and a different label requirement was needed,

I posted the transition notice on AtE a few days ago:

    @...: https://forums.gunbroker.com/discussion/1897228/orm-d-classification-change-to-limited-quantity-effective-january-1-2021%E2%80%8B

The final day to use the Other Regulated Materials-D (ORM-D) classification for US highway shipments is December 31, 2020. The ORM-D designation for hazardous materials packages shipped by ground can no longer be used on January 1, 2021.

In most cases the same materials, in the same quantities, in the same packaging, will continue to qualify for relief under US Department of Transportation’s (DOT) limited quantity regulations after ORM-D is phased out. You should refer to the DOT Chemical table to know if your materials are eligible to be shipped as limited quantity.

Limited quantity shipments are typically excepted from UN specification packaging, hazmat labels, shipping papers, and hazmat placards.

What will change is the label you affix to your packages.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6031683/uploads/Q6HNAWJFHU92/image.png

You must use the “new” white square-on-point limited quantity marking for ground shipments shown above. If you ship liquids, orientation arrows are also required [49 CFR 172.312(a)(2)]. Work with your preferred label supplier to obtain the new labels required for use beginning January 1, 2021.

Shippers of limited quantities of hazardous materials are required by the DOT to have hazmat training in place for all employees who can affect the safety of hazmat shipments in transport. 49 CFR 172.704 requires that all employees receive general awareness, security awareness, and function-specific hazmat training.

FedEx® Ground offers online training sessions about how to determine if your shipment can be packaged to the limited quantity rules along with how to ship fully regulated packages.

Where can I get the ORM-D labels? Is there a pdf or such that's printable?

The ORM-D labels are only good thru the end of this year. The black and white triangle, which is the consumer commodity symbol is what you need to use after 1/1/2021. Look at the thread below. I just draw it on the box with a sharpie.

Ok where can I/we get these labels?

I have some ammo I'd like to sell but want to be prepared to ship ASAP before hand.

All these restrictions are a real PITA.

500 labels for $31+ shipping? Don't need nearly that many and certainly don't have that much ammo to sell. lol

That's why I just draw the symbol with a sharpie, never had a problem....
