I was able to view, touch one on display at the Strugis Motocycle Rally some years ago.
Awesome engineering and finely crafted ---- but no test drives permitted. :-(
One wonders how many ground loops have occurred when that thing takes off.

The first one is the coolest! A rotary engine, not a radial.
The others are unique too but I would love to see the first one running!

I thought a rotary engine was the Wankle version like Mazda used. That looks like the radial engines used in aircraft. What am I missing?

"Rotary aircraft engine
Unlike stationary aircraft engines, in which a turning crankshaft drives the propeller, in rotaries the whole engine spins around a stationary crankshaft. The prop is bolted directly to the engine and spins with it. The primary reason for the rotary configuration was to provide adequate cooling."
The Truth About Rotaries
Fallacies have long obscured facts in the history of rotary engines. As in subsequent conflicts, airplane technology progressed at a rapid pace duringBest.

Best.
What he said! Must have been a Polish design๐คฃ

They're both called rotaries. A Mazda-style Wankel engine and a radial engine which has the crankshaft bolted to the firewall and has the cylinders rotating. Two different concepts, same name.

Best.
I have learned something today. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want the thing spinning that close to my knees.
