Very sad to lose one like that. Same thing happened to me with my cat, I knew she was dying and one morning she just walked off. I looked all around and couldn't find her I figured she had just walked off in the woods to die.

After about 12 hours missing, suddenly she was back. I petted her for a few minutes and then she lay down, and she died.

Sorry to hear that. Our cat went out one Easter evening. He just disappeared. I searched several hundred acres, but no luck. He was about 7 years old, fixed and had always come back yowling to get in. We have coyotes, foxes, and bobcats around here, and I figure he was converted to varmint poop pretty quickly.

I feel your pain and suffering. I lost a beagle this way on Oct. 18, 2019. Searched all over but could not find her. Heartbreaking to this day. I really hope you can find your dog and he is ok. Dogs can become like family members and it is terrible when something happens like this and leaves you wondering about their fate. May the lord bless you and keep your dog safe until you find her. Don't give up looking and let us know about him.

Thanks guys, it's never easy losing a dog, especially for us because most of ours are from our litters so they've been with us since birth. May have to take the whole pack out searching tomorrow, if a big pack of Ridgebacks can't find her I don't know what could.

I am so very sorry for your loss Ridgleyart. I pray every night when my Buddy is curled up next to me, to save me from that fate. (Getting off trolley and running off.) Not knowing is the worst, as I do not need to tell you. I am sorry.

My dog is a Rhodesian Ridgeback, crossed with a Pit. By far the best dog I've ever had. One in a million. Rescue at apprx 9 mo. of age. I thank God every day, for bringing us together.

I am sorry for your loss Brother.

Ken, that combo should make for a heck of a guard dog. We've owned Ridgebacks for over twenty years and bred them for about 10 years, but breeding and everything that goes with it is a lot of work if done right, we stopped about 4 years ago. We still have quite a large pack.

I thought my dog was full Pit, (as did the Vet, upon looking him over, spaying him before adoption.) A requirement.

He is very unusual. Scooby Doo Tan with golden eyes. Hair stands up on his back. A Member here, said that he had bred "Catch Dogs," (Rhodesian Ridgebacks crossed with Pits.) here in W NC, and he would swear Buddy was one of his. It made sense.

(Again) I am Sorry for your loss Brother.

Hard enough to lose one under your own control, but that's a tough one to deal with...RIP little pup, and prayers to you for your loss.....

Don't give up hope, few years ago two of my dogs got loose, found one the second day on 1000 acre place across the street sitting in the middle of a flooded oil rig platform walked through 10 inches of water to get him, but no sign of the other one then about a week later she just showed up dirty and hungry. You just never know, had an old cat about 17 years old that used to be gone for a day or two then come back until one time he just didn't... it hurts and I feel for ya brother.
