Think it is just ivory that Barrack ordered everyone to send to the US government and of course, they did.🤐 Taht is a nice find you have there.😀

    C&P

Sambar Stag Antler  (also called Stag, India Stag, Stag, Axis Stag, Red Stag, Cut Stag, Midnight Stag): Comes from the Sambar deer or Cheetal deer of India and the Pacific rim countries. There was an embargo on Indian Sambar that was lifted once then reapplied, but the horn is available through other countries, and supplies can be found all over the web, so don't think it is in any way rare.

No and they will bring good money if they are pretty. I sold a pair recently for $450.00. You can't find good stag like you could 30 or 40 years ago anymore.

That was a synthetic called "Franzite" good repros are available of that. It was seen on a lot of single actions in the 50's and 60's, though stag or other antler (not horn) was very, very rarely used in the 'Old West' outside of Hollywood.

Sambar is the Indian Elk, The Maral stag from Eastern Europe has a beautiful finer bark as well, and paler than Sambar usually is.

Neither is endangered worldwide and both are imported.

Post the auction number if you list them: I'd be interested.

He Dog-You're wealth of information. And I don't mean that in my normal "warped" sense of humor approach. It's appreciated.

I thought this was going to be about a white working male of the human race.
