For months, negotiations in Congress have failed to produce a new Covid stimulus deal, and this week was no different, even though the talks were tied to broader government funding legislation in an effort to create pressure for a compromise.
That plan, however, has not worked so far. Lawmakers had to pass last-minute emergency funding on Friday to avert a government shutdown and create time for another round negotiations over the weekend.
Now, the negotiations are hung up over the Federal Reserve’s emergency lending powers.

The government is not working now they are all staying home saying they can’t go to work because of COVID no one would even notice if it was shut down except the government employees themselves for not getting paid.
