I have a same era Duramatic with brown grips. Quite an ingenious configuration regarding the grips dual function as magazine well. They do tend to crack from time to time and I'd imagine that's what happened here. Still would be a fine shooter. I use mine to familiarize new shooters with semi pistols. Reliable and accurate, the trigger pull is good but has a bit of "feel" to it.
IIRC the Duramatic became the Plinkster about 1970 or so.
