Lightly smoked sardines packed in EVO with jalapeno slices. If they could only find a way to add crispy bacon.

  I almost got thrown off a helicopter once, for eating mustard sardines.

  We were working multiple locations, moving to a new LZ. I was the only guy in the back with 2 guys up front and it was lunchtime.

  When I opened the sardines the intercom went hot, "What's that awful smell coming from back there?".

  I was threatened with immediate ejection, strand me between LZ's and a ban from flying.

  After that, it was a preflight check to ask what I was carrying for lunch.

  Sardines are best eaten off the end of a Buck knife in a deer stand. I have anecdotal evidence that they are a major deer attractant.
