Got spit on....AND....turned down $102,000.00.....by a mentally challenged person in a drive thru.

I decided it was a pretty day, so I got the Camaro out to run a deposit to the bank.

It started right up, weather was perfect, cracked the window and found a CD to play.....life is good.

I drove to the bank and pulled around to the drive through area. There was a beat up white car to my left, a couple lanes over, a few cars ahead in both lanes that were open. I start to gather my things and I hear a tap on my window. When I turned my head I was visibly shaken by this disheveled looking guy leaning down with his face right at the glass.

I roll the window down and he starts stammering on about it being a 67....he knows what this is.....he grew up with these.....this is "right"......I know what this is.....on and on.....and on.....and on. He has 5 teeth in his mouth, spitting with every word, and this little drop of drool juuuuuust dangling on his bottom lip that never falls.....like the morning dew on a flower petal.

He goes on to say he sells cars and wants to buy this one. I tell him I'm not in the selling mood right now. He says he paid $200 for that car (points to the beat up white thing) and says he will sell it for $1800. "I do this all day, every day." Looks at my car again and says "this is right!" (again.)

Everyone has moved forward.....my lane is now clear ahead and I should be at the terminal. I tell him I've got to go. He says....."I'll give you $100,000 for it". I tell him its not worth quite that much, but I'm not selling it and start to inch forward hoping to make this stop. He says.....One Hundred and TWO Thousand! I say....give me one of your cards and I'll let you know. He starts to yammer on about his daddy owning a vacant lot near Family Dollar and I have probably seen his cars there.

I'm rolling forward and he walks away. I'm putting my deposit in the tube and I hear the white beater revving up like he has the peddle on the floor, but its not moving.......POW!.....it backfires and starts to creep forward. I'm trying not to look over at this point. The teller asks if I need anything else, I say no.....and try to get out of there asap so he can't follow me home.

I know there is a chance that this special needs person had money......but who on earth would let a guy pay over double what a car is worth? He probably didn't have it, so its just insane to imagine this transaction taking place.

So, I can officially say I've been offered, and turned down, $102,000.00 for my car. 😂
